Costs of Refinishing Your Hardwood Floors, Cabinets and Furniture
I mention pricing here only as a guideline so that you may start to plan your project’s budget. There are a lot of variables to factor into the final cost of the project. However, once I visit your home, determine the scope of your project and calculate the project cost, that will be the final price. No surprises at the end.
Hardwood Floors
Pricing will range from $1.50-$6.25 per square foot depending on whether your floors just need a light screening and finish, or if they need completely sanded down to bare wood. Included in the pricing will be the dustless sanding, screening, buffing, cleaning of the room and the finish coatings.
Other variables that will affect your final cost:
Cabinets and Furniture
Too many variables exist to give even an estimated cost of refinishing or restoring your cabinets and furniture until the project is seen.
Hardwood Floors

- Carpet, padding and tack strip removal. $.025-$2.00 per square foot.
- Steps, at an average of $25-$65.00 per step.
- Baseboard removal and new baseboards installed. This cost depends on the type of baseboard and finish or paint selected.
- Filling in of large gaps near the walls or between floor boards and repair of badly damaged boards. Price will vary.
- Time to move furniture. Again, this will vary depending on pieces, size, and where it will be moved during the project.
